Nadim Hossain is the CEO and co-founder of BrightFunnel -- "Splunk for CMOs" -- which provides revenue insights for B2B marketers. He is the for former chief marketing officer of PowerReviews, where he led all marketing, sales development and channel sales efforts. PowerReviews offers social commerce solutions for online retailers. In that role, he more than doubled revenue run-rate, increased demand generation results by 10x, and helped paved the way for a successful $168 million acquisition by Bazaarvoice (NASDAQ: BV). Previously, he was Director of Product Marketing & Management at Salesforce.com and Senior Product Manager and GM for SaaS at McAfee. He is also an alumnus of Amazon.com and Bain & Co. Nadim has written and spoken extensively about SaaS and marketing, including contributions to Forbes, Mashable and Venturebeat. He has a bachelor's degree from Cornell University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

- Spent ages 3-5 in Dhaka, and subsequently grew up in Switzerland, Japan and India (due to father's profession as diplomat)
- Speak Bengali, French, English and Japanese somewhere between native and decent fluency.
- First job: Associate Consultant at Bain & Co in 1998 (in Boston, MA). Met many of my best friends there.
- Moved to SF Bay Area in 2000, at height of bubble. First startup lasted < 6 mos.
- Have now lived longer in the SF Bay Area than anywhere else previously (by a margin of 2X). 2 years in Noe Valley/Mission, 5 years in Mountain View/Palo Alto, and 6 years in Cow Hollow.
- Got the opportunity to be a Product Manager after cold calling McAfee president. Lucked into an amazing opportunity to grow a fledgling SaaS product line from early stage to 3M subscribers and over $30m in revenues.
- Rejected by Stanford GSB in 2001. Accepted in 2005. Had a fantastic experience at GSB - highly relevant to my startup aspirations.
- Have lived through the Kafka-esque absurdist experience that is being a foreign visa holder in the US. Received my green card in 2008 finally (sponsored by Salesforce.com - thanks Marc!).
- Have competed as a USABA sanctioned amateur boxer. Thankfully, I retired.
- Grew up wanting to be a professional tennis player. Peaked at #33 Under 14 ranking in Kanto Plains, Japan. Set new goals.
- Between Salesforce and PowerReviews, spent 4 months in Latin America in 2010 -- specifically Argentina and Brazil -- learning Spanish and Portuguese.
